Appeal following fail to stop collision in Stevenage

Police are appealing for the rider of an e-scooter which was in collision with a child in Stevenage’s old bus station area on Saturday (22 August) to come forward.

The collision took place just before 4pm on Danestrete.

The rider was described as a white teenage boy, he was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a grey hooded top, a black cap and black trainers. He was riding a black e-scooter.

Thankfully the small child only suffered minor injuries, however officers would like to speak to the rider.

PC Chris Brown, of the Stevenage Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I am appealing to the young male involved, or family members who may be aware, to come forward.

“Although the rider did apologise, an e-scooter is classed as a motor vehicle and if involved in a collision the rider has a legal duty to stop and exchange details.
